About Course
Level 1B Writing Course (Grades 5-7)
Build Fluency. Strengthen Structure. Prepare for More.
This 24-week writing course is designed for students who have some writing experience and are ready to grow in structure, style, and writing fluency. Using Structure and Style for Students: Level 1B from the Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW), students will write across multiple formats including summaries, short reports, and stories while continuing to strengthen their ability to organize ideas and apply stylistic techniques.
Each week, students receive step-by-step instruction, guided practice, and feedback on their work. Lessons introduce key structural models and stylistic tools, helping students take notes, outline confidently, vary their sentence structure, and revise with more independence.
Taught by certified teacher Ms. Justyna, this course provides a strong foundation for students moving beyond the basics and preparing for more advanced academic writing.
