About Course
Modern World History Writing Course
For students in grades 6 to 8
Also ideal for strong readers in grades 4 and 5
This 30-week writing course builds writing skills through the study of modern world history. Students will explore events such as the Age of Exploration, the American and French Revolutions, the Industrial Revolution, World Wars I and II, and the Cold War while learning to organize ideas, apply stylistic techniques, and write with structure and purpose.
Using Modern World History-Based Writing Lessons from the Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW), students are guided through structured writing assignments such as summaries, reports, and critiques.
What makes this class different:
Ms. Justyna expands on the workbook with additional historical content to give students a richer understanding of the events they study. Each lesson helps students make meaningful connections while writing with purpose and structure.
