Reading with Purpose: Structure, Imagination, and Confidence
This self-guided novel study program is designed for students in Grades 4–6 who are ready to grow as independent readers and writers. The selected novels are engaging, age-appropriate, and rich with opportunities to explore character development, problem-solving, and big ideas—without being overwhelming.
Each book is broken into manageable weekly sections. Students complete comprehension questions and a short writing assignment after each reading, building toward a final paragraph or short essay. The lessons are designed to help students make deeper connections to the text while strengthening vocabulary, inference, and structure in their writing.
