Wordly Wise 3000 (Grades K–12)
Wordly Wise 3000 is a classic, direct, and systematic vocabulary and reading program. Based on the U.S. Common Core Standards, vocabulary across K–12 is categorized into three levels: Basic Vocabulary, General Academic Words, and Domain-Specific Words. This program focuses on the academic and domain-specific vocabulary outlined in the Common Core Standards.
-
Basic Vocabulary: Words learned naturally through conversation and everyday life.
-
General Academic Words: Frequently appear across subjects and are commonly used in academic texts.
-
Domain-Specific Words: Terms defined in textbooks and necessary for success in specific subject areas.
The curriculum is designed for students from kindergarten through grade 12 and covers vocabulary commonly found in key exams like the PSAT, SAT, and ACT. Mastering these words strengthens students’ academic reading and writing skills, ensuring readiness for higher-level learning.
