About Course

What is Wordly Wise?
Wordly Wise is a vocabulary development program. Its goal is to help students build a strong vocabulary so they can read more confidently, understand what they read, and express themselves clearly in writing and speaking.

How does it work?

  • Each lesson introduces a set of new words (usually 10–15).

  • Students learn the meaning of the words through definitions, examples, and illustrations.

  • They practice using the words in different ways—matching words to definitions, completing sentences, answering questions, and doing short reading passages that use the new vocabulary.

  • The program encourages students not just to memorize, but to really understand how words are used in real life.

Why is it important?

  • A strong vocabulary improves reading comprehension.

  • It helps students succeed in all subjects—science, history, math—because every subject requires understanding words.

  • It also builds confidence in communication—students can better express ideas in speaking and writing.
