What is the Wonders Literature Anthology?
The Wonders Literature Anthology is a collection of stories, poems, plays, and nonfiction texts that students read as part of the Wonders reading program. It is designed to give children rich, engaging reading experiences while also supporting key skills in literacy.
Why is it important?
-
Exposure to different genres – Students read a wide variety of texts, from fiction and folktales to biographies and informational articles.
-
Builds comprehension skills – Each selection is paired with questions and activities that teach children how to understand, analyze, and discuss what they read.
-
Supports vocabulary growth – New words are introduced within each story, helping students learn them in context.
-
Connects to themes – The texts are grouped by themes (such as friendship, problem-solving, or nature), helping students make connections between what they read and the world around them.
-
Models good writing – By reading strong examples of literature, students see how authors use language, structure, and style, which supports their own writing development.
